As I started to paint the cactus and corn they gradually began to change colors until a rainbow had spread across the page.
The cactus, ripe and budding with fruit, along with the corn are representative of a fruitful life giving harvest: A season of gathering.
“Fruitful even in desert seasons,
you have a source of water/life even when others around you are dry and weary; In a seemingly dry season, you are made to never thirst again, for you have the living water of life. Come drink and thirst no more."
The mucilage, or inner “guts” of these nopales cacti and prickly pear fruit, are often used as a resource to purify contaminated water used for aquaculture.
"To be pure is to not be mixed with any other substance or material; to be free of any contamination. When you are clear, you have made room for the Holy Spirit to come plow, plant and grow in your heart till what flows from you is purely the fruits of the Spirit living inside of you."
“They Will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of their lives. They are never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous."
