April, the 4 month of the year, derived its name from the latin word 'aperit', which means "to open". April is considered the month of the growing season when trees and flowers begin to “open”; while Sweet Pea, April’s birth flower, derived it’s scientific name from the Greek word 'lathyros', which means “pulse” & the Latin word 'Odoratus' which means “fragrant”. Sweet Peas are named for the pleasant and sweet aroma that they emit.
This month is so different from most April’s, however the symbolic meaning still applies so perfectly: “To open, and pulse with fragrance.”
It’s such beautiful imagery: After the winter where everything was dormant and internal, all that is alive begins to open up, and release their contribution to a world that is blossoming around them. Everywhere I look, I see people opening up, sharing, releasing love, creativity and emanating beauty. We are still blooming, even from a distance, and it is impacting our world in a beautiful way. Keep releasing your contribution!
